Bukit Mertajam Arts and Cultural Festival was held on the 31st of August at Jit Sin Independent School at Bukit Mertajam by Rakan Bukit Mertajam (Rakan BM). The event was attended by Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi Bin Haji Abdul Razak, the Penang State Governor, local assemblymen, members of the parliament and the general public from near and far. During the opening ceremony, HARMONICO took the opportunity to launch Penang Harmony Celebration 2023.
The Interfaith Forum & Movie Screening, organised by the Creation Justice Commission (CJC) at Penang Harmony Centre on 3rd September, brought together representatives from diverse faiths to discuss human responsibility for environmental care. The screening of ‘The Letter: A Message for our Earth’ complemented these discussions, highlighting spirituality’s importance in environmental stewardship.
On the 12th of September 2023, HARMONICO alongside the Department of National Unity and National Integration (JPNIN) organised a colouring competition at 2 kindergartens, Tabika Perpaduan Jalan Patani and Tabika Perpaduan Bangunan Persekutuan. The kindergartens buzzed with creativity as the young artists participated in the colouring contest. It was an opportunity for the students to express themselves and learn about the beauty of different cultures.
