What is jelajah harmoni seberang jaya?
Created through a partnership between Arts-Ed and the local community, this program is a distinctive blend of experiential education, guided tours, and immersive engagement with the religious community at the Streets of Harmony Seberang Jaya.
Who is the jelajah harmoni for?
The program is exclusively designed for secondary school students aged 15-18 years old in Penang, but anyone who wishes to participate is welcome.
Completing this jelajah harmoni will help you:
- Cultivate an appreciation for the cultural values embedded within the Streets of Harmony Seberang Jaya and foster genuine respect for the diverse cultural tapestry prevalent in the area.
- Delve into the multifaceted interpretations of ‘harmony’ witnessed within the Streets of Harmony.
- Develop and personalize your own understanding of this crucial concept, thus broadening your perspectives significantly.

Jelajah Harmoni offers exploration routes on either Saturdays (Route A) or across both Saturdays and Sundays (Route B). The specific dates available depend on participant and community schedules.
Jelajah Harmoni takes place at the Streets of Harmony Seberang Jaya. Refer to the information above for houses of worship you will be visiting based on the route you will be taking.
Jelajah Harmoni is a captivating 4.5-hour exploration program led by two experienced facilitators. Participants will embark on a journey of discovery, visiting houses of worship, engaging in thought-provoking tasks, documenting their observations, and interacting with members of the local community through insightful interviews.
To fully participate, please bring a pen for your program booklet. For visits to the Mosque, ladies are kindly requested to wear a headscarf. Both men and women should have a head covering for visits to the Gurdwara.
As a sign of respect when visiting religious sites, participants are encouraged to dress modestly. Attire that reveals knees is not permitted.
